Baked Ziti Recipe by Nailah Heard
New recipe alert! I made Baked Ziti last weekend and omg, it was delicious! Being a college student on a budget you have to plan your meals ahead. I wanted this meal to last over 4 days so I made enough for 6-8 servings and yes, it lasted! Follow my step by step guide below to achieve the same results!

Ingredients:
Olive oil
Ziti (Brand: Great Value, 2 -16oz boxes)
2 lbs Ground beef
1 link, Turkey sausage
Yellow onion
Garlic clove
Curly parsley
Red, orange, and yellow bell pepper
Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
Parmesan cheese (shredded)
Ricotta cheese
Bertolli Five cheese (48 oz)
Prego harvest garden, onion, garlic, tomato (45 oz)
Black pepper
Salt
Cayenne pepper
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Sugar
Baked Ziti instructions (15 steps):
1. Dice all vegetables (yellow, orange, red bell pepper, onion, garlic, finely chop curly parsley.) Set diced and chopped vegetables to the side

2. Boil big pot of water, add 2 tbsp of salt and 2 tbsp of olive oil
3. When the water is boiling add, the pasta, Ziti. Stir for 15 min until al dente.

4. Cook ground beef on medium heat for 20-25 min, drain fat. Add 1 tbsp of each seasoning (Black pepper, Salt, Cayenne pepper, Garlic powder, Onion powder)
5. Thinly slice the turkey sausage link, add 1 tbsp of olive oil to pan. Cook turkey sausage on medium heat for 15-20 min
6. (Once the fat from the ground beef is drained) Transfer turkey sausage to the ground beef pan. Stir ground beef and turkey sausage together

7. In the turkey sausage pan, (there should be no turkey sausage in this pan because we added it to the ground beef) add 1 tbsp of olive oil. Next, Sauté all of the vegetables on medium high heat for 15-20 min

8. Add all prego sauces to one big pot. Set temperature on medium high heat. Next, add the Parmesan and 1/4 cup of sugar. Cook until cheese is melted 15-20 min *Add a little cayenne pepper to the sauce to spice it up

9. Drizzle olive oil at the bottom of the aluminum baking pan. Layer the Ziti pasta on pan.
10. Next, layer and add 1/2 of the pasta sauce.

11. Then, layer and add all of the ground beef and turkey sausage.
12. After, layer the 2/2 of the pasta sauce into the aluminum baking pan. Mix ingredients together.
13. Layer the ricotta cheese and next the mozzarella cheese.

14. Bake the dish on 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes
15.Serve and enjoy!
