Jambo Freedom School Parent and Families,
Folwell Park Freedom School has officially come to a close. This summer has been completely life changing and vital to the scholars and the Servant Leader Interns (SLI). As the scholars take their Freedom School experience with them on to their next journey, the SLI’s will forever keep each and every one of the scholars close to their hearts. Tears were shed on the last day, an infinite amount of hugs were given and lives will forever be transformed.
All of the Minnesota Freedom Schools arrived at the Science Museum of Minnesota for a day of learning amazing science education! The experience of the various exhibit halls and live science demonstrations were enough to keep the scholars engaged and active throughout the day.

The honorable Reverend Dr. Earl F. Miller came to speak to the scholars about the history of black people in America and also about his time growing up in the time of the Civil Rights Movement. Rev. Dr. Miller is the granddad of one of the SLI’s at Folwell Park Freedom School.

All of the scholars got a chance to make fresh guacamole! These simple ingredients kept the scholars interested and focused on trying this new recipe at home with their families.

The Integrated Reading Curriculum (IRC) is always a success at Freedom School, incorporating creativity and sensibility into the everyday learning session.

Parents and families, please feel free to copy, save or print the images of your scholars. Our mission is to ensure a safe and fun environment for all of the scholars here at Folwell Park Freedom School. Also, be sure to check on this website for weekly updates of your scholars.
